Millennium Space Systems, a Boeing Company, is hiring a Quality Inspector Sr to join our El Segundo facility. The role demands hands-on inspection leadership, governing quality processes and traceability across materials and final products.

The candidate will work with cross-functional teams, perform audits, document discrepancies, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. This 2nd shift position is onsite with union representation and security clearance requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years of quality inspection experience.
• 3+ years with QA specifications and requirements.
• 3+ years documenting corrective actions and non-conformances.
• 3+ years reading aerospace drawings and blueprints.
• 3+ years using precision measuring tools.

Responsibilities

• Initiates corrective actions with Manufacturing, ATLO, and Engineering teams.
• Maintains systems that ensure quality and traceability of incoming materials and final products.
• Interfaces with Design and Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing, Materials, Procurement and Shipping on quality control issues.
• Monitors manufacturing processes through audits and evaluations to ensure compliance with specs.
• Documents discrepancies during manufacturing and test operations.
• Independently perform verifications and document results clearly and precisely.
• Supports in other inspection areas as needed by leadership.
• Develops, implements, and audits inspection and test plans and acceptance criteria.
• Facilitates root cause analysis and resolution with manufacturing/production DRs.
• Assists in annual audits and systems surveys.
• M akes recommendations to leadership on process improvements for programs.
• Demonstrates working knowledge of MES systems (JIRA, Costpoint, etc.).

Position Responsibilities

• Initiates corrective actions with our Manufacturing, ATLO, and Engineering teams
• Maintains systems that will assure the quality and traceability of the incoming materials and final products
• Interfaces and/or works closely with Design and Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing, Materials, Procurement and Shipping personnel on procedural issues involving design, methods, tooling, cost and other areas involved in the control of product quality
• Monitors all manufacturing processes through audits and daily evaluations, to ensure that assembly & test operations being performed in accordance with approved specifications and standards
• Documents discrepancies as they occur during manufacturing & test operations
• Independently perform verifications and document results in a clear, precise, and complete manner
• Supports in other inspection areas defined by Millennium Space Systems Leadership as business needs require
• Develops, implements, and audits inspection and test plans, acceptance criteria, and in-process work instructions
• Facilitates root cause analysis and resolution with manufacturing / production area DR’s
• Assists in conducting annual audits and systems surveys
• Makes recommendations to company leadership on the implementation of process improvements on assigned program(s) or product areas
• Demonstrates working knowledge and interfaces of MES systems (JIRA, Costpoint, etc.)

Work Location

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Shift

This position is primarily 2nd shift; however, there may be additional shift requirements to support program objectives. Candidates must be able to work any shift assigned.

Union

• This is an hourly union-represented position governed by the Cabinet Makers, Millmen and Industrial Carpenters Union (CMM&IC Local 721).
• New hires and employees transferring from non-union roles may be required to attend or complete training within their 90-day probationary period. Continued employment is contingent on successfully completing the probationary period.

Security Clearance

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. (An Interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret Clearance Post Start is required.)

Basic Qualifications

• Minimum of High School Diploma or GED
• More than 3 years of experience performing Quality Inspections
• More than 3 years of experience working with Quality Assurance specifications and requirements
• More than 3 years of experience documenting corrective actions and non-conformance
• More than 3 years of experience in working with blueprints, specifications, assembly drawings and standard operating procedures
• More than 1 year of experience reading and interpreting aerospace engineering drawings and blueprints
• More than 3 years of experience in setting and using precision measuring tools and equipment such as micrometers, calipers, and/or dial indicators
• Capable of lifting 20lbs or more on a frequent basis

Preferred Qualifications

• More than 3 years of experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or assembly processes and procedures
• More than 3 years of experience working with ESD, IPC J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610 standards
• Experience working with AS9100 and/or similar QMS standard
• Held an IPC quality certification
