Job summary

Hunter Engineering Company is seeking an Inspector in Durant, MS to inspect fabricated parts and finished products for conformance to company specs. You will read blueprints, measure dimensions, and communicate quality issues across teams to ensure high standards.

The role requires attention to detail, strong measurement skills, and ability to work overtime as needed. We value experienced individuals with an industrial/mechanical background and training in quality tools.

Qualifications

• Associate degree preferred in industrial/mechanical field
• One-year certificate from college or technical school plus six months related experience
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Access, Word and Excel
• Ability to use quality tools and measuring equipment
• Read and interpret safety rules, blueprints, standards and manuals
• Understand fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Ability to speak effectively before groups
• Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization
• Interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

Responsibilities

• Inspect fabrication process and final products for conformance to specifications
• Inspect materials for defects and communicate quality issues
• Interpret blueprints and drawings to ensure correct assembly
• Operate measuring tools (tape, caliper, micrometers, squares) and document results
• Report non-conforming parts and maintain data in proprietary systems
• Assist with continuous quality improvements as needed
