Qualifications

• Technical diploma or equivalent training preferred.
• Familiar with parts, tolerances, dimensions, inspection equipment, and quality terminology.
• One year experience with basic gauging equipment (micrometers, calipers, height gauges).
• Experience with the production area this position supports (e.g., seats, engines, metal fabrication).
• Flexibility to cover other shifts when needed.
• Working knowledge of PC software (word processing, spreadsheets, databases, email).
• Working knowledge of the AS400 system.
• Strong oral and written communication; able to work with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrated organizational and leadership skills.
• Previous inspection experience or related education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support production by teaching operators how to use gauges and quality equipment.
• Audit process characteristics per specification plans and inspect components/materials per plan.
• Perform sorting of non-conforming materials and verify materials meet specs.
• Attend training and work shifts as needed.
• Prepare QA layout sheets, shipping orders, and lab supplies; handle nonconforming product.
• Maintain inspection equipment and input quality data/files.
• Suggest improvements and participate in PCI process and quality data management.
• Maintain safe, organized work area and follow safety rules.
