Job summary

McWane Plant & Industrial is seeking a detail‑oriented Quality Inspector to join the Birmingham, AL team. You will inspect machined, fabricated, and assembled parts for defects, verify conformance with specifications, and document test data using precision measurement devices.

You will analyze blueprints, conduct in‑process inspections, and ensure timely reporting of non‑conformances. A strong emphasis on safety and teamwork is required to maintain quality standards across the plant.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–3 years in a hands‑on quality role.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Experience as a QC Inspector in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience using Quality Management systems, particularly QT9.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure personal safety and the safety of team members.
• Maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
• Inspect incoming materials to meet quality specs.
• Record inspection data and generate non-conformances in QT9.
• Analyze drawings and data to determine inspection procedures.
• Operate measuring devices (calipers, gauges, micrometers, height gauges).
• Communicate inspection results and recommend corrective actions.
• Work overtime as needed to meet customer and company needs.
