Job summary

Sonoco is hiring an Inspector Packer I in Union, SC. The role involves basic manufacturing tasks, quality visual checks on molded/extruded parts, and packing finished parts with proper labeling.

Candidates should have manufacturing experience and be able to read standard work instructions and perform basic measuring tasks. Responsibilities include post-molding work, data recording, and flagging non-conforming products.

Qualifications

• Manufacturing experience and/or training.
• Read and comprehend standard work instructions, math and measuring.
• Arrive to work on time with a strong attendance record.
• High school diploma or GED required or pursuing equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with departments and plant teams to complete basic manufacturing tasks.
• Visually inspect molded or extruded parts for quality defects per requirements.
• Perform post-molding/extrusion tasks (buffing, scraping, deburring, assembly) as assigned.
• Pack quality parts into cartons with correct labeling and quantities.
• Segregate and report non-conforming product per procedures.
• Maintain run records, scrap sheets, and production data.
• Record SPC/SQC data where applicable.
• Assist Supervisor with related duties and overtime as needed.
