Job summary

J&J Truck Equipment in the United States is seeking a Quality Control Inspector to perform in-process and final inspections of manufactured products to ensure they meet customer specifications.

Responsibilities include interpreting engineering drawings, selecting test samples at stages, recording data, applying statistical quality control, and reporting deviations while supporting ISO 9001 compliance and safety rules.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; 2+ years of experience in manufacturing or quality preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude is necessary, and familiarity with J&J products is a plus
• Knowledge of how to read blueprints, engineering drawings, or technical specifications.
• Experience performing in-line and final inspections, and familiarity with nonconformance & corrective action processes.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects or irregularities.

Responsibilities

• Interprets engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality & reliability standards.
• Selects products for tests at specified stages in the production process, and tests products for a variety of qualities such as dimensions, performance, mechanical, and electrical functionality.
• Records test data, applying statistical quality control procedures.
• Evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
• Recommend modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within the limits of equipment capability.
• When necessary, coordinates destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, parts, or products to measure performance, life, or material characteristics.
• Observes and complies with all provisions of the ISO 9001 QMS.
• Observes and complies with all safety rules, including the use of PPE.
