Job summary

Cadrex is hiring a Quality Inspector III to support site manufacturing practices by developing, evaluating, and improving processes using quality principles. You will inspect, document results, and quarantine non-conforming items to meet customer expectations.

Role emphasizes calibration maintenance, use of CMMs and metrology tools, and collaboration to drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions across the manufacturing floor.

Qualifications

  • Experience in ISO 9000/AS9100 machine shop or fabrication environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of GD&T, CMM operation and metrology techniques.
  • Ability to review prints and identify risks requiring inspection scrutiny.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and visually verify products to customer specs and drawings.
  • Document inspection results and generate NCRs for non-conforming items.
  • Ensure inspection equipment calibration is current and properly maintained.
  • Lead and train Level I/II inspectors as needed.
  • Support production with accurate measurement techniques and documentation.
  • Collaborate to identify root causes and drive corrective actions.

OVERVIEW

Cadrex is searching for a Quality Inspector III to directly support site manufacturing practices through development, evaluation, and continual improvement of processes using quality concepts, principles, and methodologies with the goal of consistently meeting or exceeding customer expectations of quality.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Experience in using measuring devices such as CMMs, optical inspection equipment, calipers, micrometers, bore gages, and height gages.

  • Visual inspection of product according to customer requirements, Specifications and Engineering Drawings

  • Document inspection results by completing required reports/logs

  • Identify and quarantine all non-conforming product, generate NCRs, clearly summarizing non-conforming condition of products

  • Ensure the calibration maintenance is up to date on all inspection equipment.

  • Keep measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions and identify and address issues with equipment that may need repair

  • Attend department meetings as required

  • Inspect and release products by ensuring proper documentation or certifications are provided as outlined by customer requirements. (Visual & Dimensional verification may be required)

  • Provide direct support to the production floor by assisting with interpretation and development of manufacturing related documentation and providing proper measuring techniques

  • Collaborate as a team member by helping to identify Root Cause, and ultimately leading to corrective actions addressing customer complaints, vendor issues, and internal process failures

  • Lead and train Level I and II inspectors as needed to increase performance

  • Help identify lean process and project improvements opportunities

  • Collaborate, support, and provide Quality guidance towards all levels of the manufacturing process, both internally & externally, and document results as required

  • Follow industry and Cadrex safety standards and quality expectations



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS


  • 5 or more years working in an ISO 9000/AS9100 machine shop or fabrication environment

  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees

  • Knowledge of word processing software, spreadsheet software, e-mail software and the use of the internet

  • High-level understanding of GD&T, operating CMMs, interpreting & diagnosing CMM results, and metrology techniques.

  • High-level experience in using measuring devices such as CMMs, calipers, micrometers, bore gages, and height gages.

  • Ability to review print requirements, determine the order of operations, determining the areas of risk requiring increased inspection scrutiny

  • Experience with MRB dispositioning and reviewing part conformance



EDUCATION


  • Degree or 5+ years in a related field is preferred.

  • High school diploma.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally loud.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
