Job summary

Vander-Bend is seeking a Quality Inspector II to perform incoming, first-piece, in-process, and final inspections at the Stockton facility. You will ensure products meet drawings, customer specs, and quality requirements while supporting throughput.

This role emphasizes ISO 9001 compliance, calibration awareness, and mentoring less experienced inspectors, with strong attention to detail and teamwork in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of inspection experience in sheet metal, machining, or manufacturing.
• Experience with precision measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, indicators).
• Ability to read GD&T, engineering drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of metrology, inspection methodologies, plating, painting, and manufacturing processes.
• Familiarity with quality systems, documentation, and traceability requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Computer proficiency and ability to maintain electronic quality records.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform incoming, first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using measuring equipment.
• Interpret drawings, specifications, work orders to verify product conformity.
• Identify, document, and communicate nonconformances; provide feedback to operators.
• Record inspection results and maintain quality records in systems.
• Prioritize inspection activities based on production schedules.
• Support containment, root-cause investigations, and corrective actions.
• Assist with calibration awareness and control of inspection equipment.
• Support ISO 9001 and other quality management system requirements.
• Train and mentor less experienced inspectors and operators on inspection techniques.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
