Job summary

AeroTEC Manufacturing Center in Moses Lake, WA, is seeking a Quality Inspector to set up and inspect aerospace components using CMM and bench plate equipment. You will perform first piece and in-process inspections against engineering drawings, PO requirements, and industry standards.

You will work with calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and visual inspection methods, ensuring lot integrity and proper FAI documentation, with strict adherence to safety procedures and training requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; Machinist certificate a plus.
• Minimum 5 years of experience programming/operating CMMs and performing inspection in Aerospace and/or Military/Defense Manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Operate CMM machine using established programs, as well as creating new programs.
• Perform dimensional inspection on product using CMM, calipers, micrometers and height gauges.
• Perform visual and dimensional inspection on product per procedures.
• Perform first piece inspection and in-process inspections.
• Maintain lot integrity.
• Ensure all First Article Inspection (FAI) packages are properly completed.
• Must comply with all safety requirements and wear PPE as required.
• Must be able to perform physical tasks including standing, bending, lifting up to 35 lbs; overtime may be required.

About the Team

AeroTEC’s Manufacturing Center provides operational and facility requirements to support Fabrication, Quality, Instrumentation Installation & removal, and site safety (EH&S/SMS). The AeroTEC Manufacturing Center is responsible for providing resources and facilities for fabrication, quality, manufacturing, instrumentation installation and equipment to support customer requirements.

About the Role

Quality Inspector is responsible for setting up and inspecting aerospace components utilizing CMM and bench plate equipment. Parts will be inspected to engineering drawings, customer purchase orders, industry standards and specifications.

In This Role You Will

• Operate CMM machine using established programs, as well as creating new programs.
• Perform dimensional inspection on product using CMM, calipers, micrometers and height gauges.
• Perform visual and dimensional inspection on product per procedures.
• Perform first piece inspection and in-process inspections.
• Maintain lot integrity.
• Ensure all First Article Inspection (FAI) packages are properly completed.
• Must comply with all applicable safety requirements, policies and procedures, while maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly work environment. Must participate in required training, medical monitoring, safety, and health evaluations and programs.
• Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in all designated areas of facility.
• *Perform all physical functions of position: standing, stooping, bending, sitting, walking, twisting, kneeling, turning and lifting of materials up to 35 lbs.
• Work overtime as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

The Skills You Will Bring (Minimum):

• High school diploma or GED. Machinist certificate a plus.
• Minimum 5 years of experience programming/ operating CMMs and performing inspection in Aerospace and/or Military/Defense Manufacturing environment.

Additional Qualifications

• A&P certification is a plus.
• Experience in a Part 145 Repair Station and with FAA Form 8130-3, Authorized Release Certificate, also known as an, Airworthiness Approval Tag.
