Job summary

DeKalb Health is seeking a Quality Assurance Inspector/Technician to perform qualifying inspections and in-process audits of products from manufacturing and assembly. You will ensure conformity to design requirements, read GD&T drawings, and document results in MS Office.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of experience in QA as Inspector/Auditor/Technician with certifications or degree, or
• Five (5) years with one certification/degree, or
• Ten (10) years in QA as Inspector/Auditor/Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform qualifying inspections of manufactured/modified products to meet design requirements
• Perform inspection and testing of assemblies for conformance to design and CP/C tools
• Identify and report non-conformances of product or processes
• Conduct ISO surveillance audits to ensure procedures are followed
• Perform advanced inspections including PPAP, Weld, and CMM inspections
• Support corrective action investigations
• Manage Quality System functions like MRB review, Gage Management, and Documentation Control

Hourly starting range is $25.48- $31.82. Final starting rate is based on experience.

Purpose and Scope of Job:

Primarily responsibility for the validation of all products produced from manufacturing and assembly processes, in-process auditing of manufacturing and assembly operations in accordance with ISO-9001, proper use and maintenance of measurement tools and equipment.

Essential Functions (other duties may be assigned):

• Perform Qualifying Inspections of internally and externally manufactured/modified products to ensure that they meet defined design requirements
• Perform Inspection and Testing of Manufactured Assemblies for conformance to design and configuration requirements and processing Certificates of Compliance
• Identifying and Reporting of Non-conformances of product or processes
• Perform In-Process performance and ISO surveillance audits to ensure the documented procedures are followed.
• Perform additional advanced inspections including PPAP, Weld Inspections, and CMM Inspections
• Provide support for Corrective Action investigations
• Manage Quality System functions such as MRB review, Gage Management and Documentation Control

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• A) Three (3) years of experience performing in a Quality Assurance role as an Inspector, Auditor or Technician and Two (2) Certifications or Degree from Preferred Certification list below or;
• B) Five (5) years of experience performing in a Quality Assurance role as an Inspector, Auditor, or Technician and One (1) Certifications or Degree from Preferred Certification list or,
• C) Ten (10) years of experience performing in a Quality Assurance role as an Inspector, Auditor or Technician
• Extensive knowledge of Quality Control practices
• Knowledge and ability to properly use measurement tools.
• Knowledge and ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications including GD&T and AWS Weld Symbology.
• Working Knowledge (Create & Edit) of MS Office Documents (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access)
• Mathematical knowledge to include basic Trigonometry, Geometry, Statistics (in relation to SPC) and basic math problem solving skills.
• Preferred Certification List:
• Associate’s degree in Quality, Manufacturing, or Engineering Discipline or Equivalent
• Certified Quality Inspector , Technician, Auditor or Calibration Technician

Desired Qualifications:

• Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality System Standards, Corrective Action, PPAP, and Discrepant Material management
• Knowledge and Experience in metrology, calibration, and SPC Analysis
• Working Knowledge creating and editing CMM inspection programs.
• Experience participating in or leading continuous improvement events (i.e., Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen).

Work Conditions & Physical Environment:

Duties are performed in an industrial environment. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee must constantly lift, carry, move, push, and/or pull up to 50 pounds.
