Job summary

Oil States International in Arlington, TX seeks a quality control inspector to support receipt, in-process, and finished goods inspection under limited supervision. You will identify quality problems and recommend corrective actions to meet engineering and customer requirements.

The role requires at least 2 years of inspection experience, a high school diploma or GED, and ASNT TC 1A Level II certification, with strong reading of drawings and blueprints and good English communication.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years inspection experience in a QA/manufacturing environment.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • ASNT TC 1A Level II certification required.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and blueprints.
  • Basic computer skills including email, Word and Excel.
  • Good written and verbal English communication.

Responsibilities

  • Provide test and inspection functions for all production and quality processes.
  • Perform dimensional and visual inspection to engineering and customer requirements.
  • Identify and recommend corrective actions to eliminate quality problems.
  • Assist in investigating and resolving customer complaints.
  • Complete reports and transfer electronically as applicable.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job description

Under limited supervision, provide quality control support for receipt, in-process, and finished goods inspection. Identifies, records, evaluates and recommends solutions to quality problems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide test and inspection functions for all production and quality processes.
  • Provide dimensional and visual inspection to engineering and customer requirements.
  • Provide or recommend solutions and/or corrective actions to eliminate quality problem.
  • Assist in the investigation and resolution of customer complaints.
  • Complete reports and related paperwork and transfer electronically as applicable.
  • Perform other duties assigned by supervisor.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • At least 2 years inspection experience in a quality control/manufacturing environment.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Attain and maintain ASNT TC 1A Level II certification.
  • Knowledge and understanding of quality control systems and associated procedures.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings for marking nomenclature and location.
  • Basic computer skills, ie email, Word, Excel.
  • Basic typing skills to prepare electro etch stencils
  • Mathematical skills (addition/subtraction, multiplication/division, decimal to fraction conversion and vice versa and algebra.
  • Utilize blueprints, charts and graphs, customer drawings and specifications.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write and converse in English.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Use of a computer, phone and other office equipment, including copier/scanner, etc.
  • Prolonged standing and frequent walking
  • Occasional bending, stooping, reaching, pushing and pulling.
  • Some repetitive activity
  • Light to heavy physical effort may be required.
  • Lifting and moving up to 10 pounds frequently and in excess of 20 pounds occasionally; over 30 pounds with assistance.
