Job summary

Pelican Products, Inc. is hiring a Quality Inspector I in Torrance, CA to perform routine inspections of raw materials, components, subassemblies, and finished goods to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications.

The role offers room to grow under experienced Quality personnel and eventually take on independent inspection responsibilities. You'll work with calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools, documenting results and contributing to a safe, audit-ready environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years experience in mechanical inspection in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to use measuring tools including calipers, micrometers, inside/outside micrometers, verniers, pin gauges, height gauges, radius gauges, protractors and dial indicators.
• Solid knowledge of inspection sampling methods.
• Excellent GDT knowledge and ability to read blueprints at a proficient level, determine standards and relate drawings of parts to the actual parts.
• Ability to provide basic mechanical drafting training to inspectors-in-training and render illustrations of defects in parts.

Responsibilities

• Performs incoming, in-process, and final inspections using established inspection procedures and quality standards.
• Uses basic measuring equipment to verify product conformance.
• Verifies products meet engineering drawings, specifications, work instructions, and quality requirements.
• Identifies, documents, and reports nonconforming materials or products for review and disposition.
• Accurately records inspection results and maintains required quality documentation.
