Job description

Role Objective

Performs quality inspections of components according to quality standards. Communicates quality issues to the quality team, Process Technicians, and others. Quarantines questionable parts. Operates measurement equipment such as CMM/VMM, understands, and communicates measurement results.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Primary

• Collects all components from molding machines as required, measures, assesses, and analyzes components for conformance.
• Follows first off and last off process, fills out required tags, and saves samples.
• Saves samples of non-conforming components for analysis and possible mold repair.
• Complies with all quality procedures and inspection processes, logs all required information, and relays information to quality team members on other shifts.
• Operates all required equipment (e.g., CMM, VMM, caliper, GO/NOGO gauges, Magna-Mike) and analyzes measurement data.
• Follows hold tag process when components or pumps are non-conforming or in question.
• Communicates with Production and Process Technicians regarding non-conforming components.
• Performs troubleshooting to resolve automation issues on off-shifts.
• Measures ETR components, logs, and communicates identified issues.

General

• Interacts with the production team, guides material handlers in containing non-conforming components.
• Collaborates with Process Technicians to communicate non-conforming issues.

Education and Experience

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Experience with operation of measuring equipment.
• Inspection experience.
• Exposure to ISO 9000 or other quality systems.
• Experience with plastic injection molding.
