Job summary

Valley Forge & Bolt Mfg. Co. seeks a quality control inspector to join our 1st and 2nd shift operations in Phoenix, AZ.

You will inspect incoming materials, in-process production, and final shipments, and maintain inspection records using blueprints and customer specs. This role requires attention to detail, basic math, and experience with calipers, micrometers, and inspection tools. Safety sensitive position with potential overtime and strict adherence to quality procedures and ADA

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• 1-2+ years of experience in a quality control role.
• UT or Mag Particle Level I or Level II (a +++++).
• Attention to detail and precision a must.
• Regular attendance is required. M-F (5:00-1:30pm DAY SHIFT or 1:30pm to 10:00pm NIGHT SHIFT) but must be flexible.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) experience, an extreme plus.
• Basic reading and writing (English language) and basic math ability.
• Familiar with use of most hand measuring tools (Calipers, Micrometers, Pitch Mic's).
• Familiar with inspection tools & equipment.
• Requires limited use of judgment with well-defined procedures.
• Shall have basic computer knowledge (Microsoft & Company Server).
• Must be able to work well with team and other departments and prioritize duties.
• Knowledge of quality control procedures and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming vendor shipment external services.
• Inspect production floor/lab coverage and overflow for 2nd shift.
• Inspect in-process production of all departments.
• Inspect incoming purchased materials (Steel, Nuts, Bolts, etc.).
• Perform final inspection and QC at shipping.
• Work from blueprints or customer requirements.
• Prepare and maintain inspection reports and records.
• Calibration tool inspection and record keeping (monthly).
• Prepare & perform hardness verification.
• Conduct daily audits of all departments.
• Overtime may be required and approved.
• Fill out Quality Alerts when issues are found with required information.
• Increase knowledge in all manufacturing practices.
• Safety Sensitive Position.
• Other duties as needed or required.
