Job summary

Horton Emergency Vehicles, part of Terex Corporation, is seeking a Quality Inspector to ensure ambulance quality before shipment. Inspect electrical and mechanical systems, interpret drawings, and document results. Must read and follow English directions, communicate clearly, and work with minimal supervision.

Candidates with prior Horton experience preferred. The role emphasizes adherence to standards, testing protocols, and teamwork to meet production goals in a fast-paced manufacturing

Qualifications

• Must be familiar with all quality standards, and test protocols.
• Valid Ohio driver's license
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and verbally communicate simple instructions, short correspondence and memos in English.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Understand engineering drawings and customer specifications
• Inspection of finished ambulances to determine defects and conformance to applicable standards and regulations; perform electrical load, and function testing, perform road tests
• Must be able to perform both electrical and cosmetic inspections
• Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste; inputting data into quality database
• Must possess good mechanical aptitude
• Need knowledge of basic 12-volt electrical systems
• Must understand measuring products such as rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometers
• Understand and carry out verbal and written directions in English
• Function with a minimal amount of supervision or no supervision
• Set work priorities to meet production goals as scheduled
• Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships
• Able to effectively communicate in English
• Good interpersonal skills required to communicate problems verbally
• Ability to rotate and learn multiple quality inspection gates
• Must be able to handle multiple assignments daily as required
• Ability to assist quality supervisor in quality and production improvements
