Job summary

Applicantz in Fremont, CA is hiring a 2nd shift Quality Control Inspector for a 100% onsite role. You will perform dimensional and visual inspections of machined parts, use ZEISS CMM/CALYPSO, and ensure conformance to drawings and GD&T standards.

The role requires 2–3+ years of QC experience, proficiency with precision measuring tools, and the ability to generate NCRs. You will collaborate with production to resolve quality issues and support continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 2–3+ years of Quality Control/inspection experience.
• Experience inspecting machined mechanical components.
• Strong proficiency with precision measuring tools and dimensional inspection equipment.
• Solid understanding of GD&T and engineering drawings.
• Hands-on experience with ZEISS CMM equipment.
• Experience developing and running CALYPSO CMM programs.
• Ability to identify defects, document findings, and generate NCRs.
• Able to follow established inspection procedures independently.

Job description

This is 100% onsite role in Fremont, CA, Mon-Fri, work hours 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM (2nd Shift)

Key Responsibilities

• Perform dimensional and visual inspections of machined parts and assemblies against engineering drawings and specifications.
• Use precision measuring tools and equipment to verify product conformance.
• Develop, modify, and run ZEISS CMM / CALYPSO inspection programs.
• Validate measurement results against drawing specifications and tolerances.
• Interpret engineering drawings and apply Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Document inspection results accurately and maintain detailed quality records.
• Create Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) when defects or specification deviations are identified.
• Communicate inspection findings clearly to production teams and management.
• Work with manufacturing and production teams to resolve quality issues and support corrective actions.
• Monitor critical inspection equipment and instrumentation.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with applicable quality, safety, ASME and ANSI standards.
• Provide guidance to inspectors on proper CMM setup, measurement techniques, and inspection practices.

Required Qualifications

• 2–3+ years of Quality Control / Quality Inspection experience, preferably in a machine shop or precision manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience inspecting machined mechanical components.
• Strong proficiency with precision measuring tools and dimensional inspection equipment.
• Solid understanding of GD&T and engineering drawings.
• Hands-on experience with ZEISS CMM equipment.
• Experience developing and running CALYPSO CMM programs.

• Ability to work independently and follow established inspection procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in semiconductor equipment manufacturing or a related precision manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of ASME and ANSI quality standards.
• ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) or similar quality certification.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in a technical field preferred.
