Job summary

Saulsbury Industries in Permian Basin – West Texas is seeking a Quality Inspector to ensure conformance of materials and installation to project specifications. You will perform civil construction inspections, verify drawings and plans, and document QA activities on a full-time project site.

Qualifications include a High School diploma or GED and 3–5 years of civil project site inspection or oil/gas QA experience. Strong reporting and teamwork skills are essential.

POSITION SUMMARY

Under general supervision, applies skills and knowledge to determine degree of conformance of materials, equipment and installation of materials and equipment to specifications. Performs inspection of various project activities; generates reports of conditions found during inspection activities; Notifies management of significant problems; Completes documentation to attest to satisfactory completion of inspection or test activities.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct inspections of civil construction activities including earthworks, excavation, grading, concrete placement, foundations, paving, utilities, and structural works.
  • Verify that work is performed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and quality control plans.
  • Perform material receiving inspections and verify compliance with project requirements.
  • Witness field testing activities, including soil compaction, concrete testing, and other quality assurance tests.
  • Ensure proper installation and workmanship of civil infrastructure components.
Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate inspection records, reports, and quality documentation.
  • Review and verify Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and quality checklists.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly quality reports as required.
  • Document non-conformance reports (NCRs), corrective actions, and follow-up inspections.
  • Ensure all quality records are properly filed and maintained for project closeout.
Compliance & Standards
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, local building codes, industry standards, and company requirements.
  • Monitor contractor adherence to approved procedures and quality control requirements.
  • Participate in internal and external quality audits.
  • Support implementation of the project's Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Coordinate inspections with construction supervisors, subcontractors, testing laboratories, and client representatives.
  • Attend quality meetings and provide updates on inspection activities and quality issues.
  • Work closely with engineering and construction teams to resolve quality-related concerns.
  • Identify quality trends and recommend improvements to construction practices.
  • Assist in root-cause analysis and corrective action processes.
  • Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement on the project site.’ll conduct inspections of civil construction activities including earthworks, excavation, grading, concrete placement, foundations, paving, utilities, and structural works. REQUIREMENTS
  • High School Graduate or equivalent (GED)
  • 3-5 years' Civil Project Site inspection experience / Oil and Gas Quality Inspection experience.
  • Required exposure to civil, electrical, mechanical, pipeline/oil/gas, industrial and welding activities.
  • Must be able to read/interpret engineered civil drawings
  • Ability to independently perform work such as Piping system walkdown, structural walkdown, and Civil inspections.
  • The Quality Inspector must be a self-starter, be organized and have good interpersonal skills.
  • Read, analyze, and interpret blueprints and technical procedures.
  • Write daily reports and document project activities.
  • Effectively collect and record field data to assure activities are conforming to corporate Quality Control procedures.
  • Ensures the effective implementation of the quality control program for assigned project tasks.
  • Ability to solve problems individually and in a team setting.
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to walk the property and laydown yards.
  • Ability to carry up to 50 pounds.
