Job summary

BARNES AEROSPACE is seeking a Quality Inspector C on 2nd shift (12pm-8pm) at our Lansing, MI facility. You will review work orders, inspect parts with basic gages, and document nonconformances. The role requires 2+ years in quality/manufacturing, ability to read engineering prints, and reliable time management.

Pass a vision test and work in a schedule-driven environment. On-site role with 12% shift differential above base pay for 2nd shift.

Description

Core Responsibilities:

• Review work order documentation including Router and IMS for completion.
• Inspect part characteristics using basic hand gages as required.
• Make copies to support shipping documentation of material and processing certs along with evidence of special processing as required by customer.
• Part Mark product according to instructions.
• Create and update internal nonconformance records as needed.
• Maintain completed work order records according to traceability and evidence of inspection retention requirements.

Qualifications:

• 2 years' minimum quality and/or manufacturing experience preferred.
• Understanding of basic engineering print principals.
• Experience with basic hand gaging (calipers, micrometers, height gages, etc.) preferred.
• Must be able to pass a required annual vision test.
• Organizational multi-tasking skills.
• Communication and time management skills.
• Ability to work in a challenging and schedule driven environment.

Education Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.

Shift Differential:

• 12% additional above base pay when working 2 nd shift hours.

High School or better.
