Quality Inspector

The Quality Inspector position is responsible for executing quality plans, sampling plans, and control plans for incoming, in-process, and final inspection requirements. The role involves indicating inspection status, maintaining product traceability and nonconforming material control, and supporting other Quality System activities as assigned. When required, the inspector will initiate material holds, nonconformance investigations, and execute approved material dispositions.

Responsibilities
  • Identify quality and compliance issues related to product, processes, and records; escalate issues and identify affected items.
  • Work with Quality Engineering to initiate holds and nonconformance records for affected products.
  • Perform receiving inspection, in-process, and lot acceptance activities as per the applicable Quality System process.
  • Follow dispatch reports or other inspection priority lists to ensure completed inspections meet rate and throughput expectations.
  • Verify that materials, components, and products meet quality specifications visually and dimensionally according to specifications or other Quality System requirements.
  • Produce accurate records of completed inspections and descriptions of nonconformance issues when required.
  • Demonstrate ability to perform activities in at least one of the areas: incoming receiving, in-process, or lot acceptance.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education
  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent required.
Experience
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in quality inspection.
  • 2+ years of experience preferred, especially in a Medical Device or Component manufacturing environment. Knowledge of basic Quality Systems (nonconformance, equipment calibration).
  • Knowledge of inspection standards.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend work instructions in English.
  • Proficiency with computers and hand tools.
  • Good manual dexterity and high attention to detail.
