Job summary

American Access, Inc. is seeking a Quality Inspector to check incoming materials, in-process parts, and finished products against drawings and quality standards for aluminum ramps, platforms, handrails, and imported ramp products.

The role supports cut room, welding, and warehouse teams by identifying defects and guiding corrective actions to prevent nonconforming parts from reaching customers.

Qualifications

• Ability to interpret tolerances and weld symbols.
• Experience with precision measuring tools.
• Strong shop math including fractions, decimals and angles.
• Attention to detail and ability to reject nonconforming product.
• Clear written and verbal communication for defect documentation.
• Basic computer skills for recording results.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming aluminum stock, components, and imported finished goods for material, quantity, dimensions and damage.
• Perform first-piece and in-process checks in the cut room for length, angles, hole locations and burrs.
• Visually inspect welds for cracks, porosity, undercut and appearance per criteria.
• Verify finished ramps, landings, platforms and handrails against drawings for dimensions and slope.
• Use measuring tools and keep them calibrated.
• Tag, segregate, and document nonconforming material and route for rework or scrap.
• Record inspection results, defect counts and trends in checklists and systems.
• Notify supervisors of quality problems and help investigate root causes.
• Help write and update inspection checklists and standards.
• Audit outgoing orders for correct items, labeling and packaging.
• Follow safety rules, OSHA requirements and company policies.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
