Job description

Job Overview

The primary responsibility is to approve incoming materials, in-process production, and first articles, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 through process audits and specification verification. The role involves conducting visual and measurement tests, and communicating necessary adjustments to production Leads and Supervisors. The quality inspector will also support the improvement and implementation of the Quality Program.

A Day In The Life

  • Performs first article, in-process, final inspection, and testing.
  • Conducts process audits.
  • Updates and maintains training matrix and training files.
  • Researches and updates training histories of all current employees to ensure compliance with revision procedures.
  • Trains employees on quality policies, visual acceptability, measurement processes, and procedures as required.
  • Performs product and component tests.
  • Identifies and generates opportunities for process improvement.
  • Participates in the internal audit process.
  • Wears all PPE required for the specific work area.
  • Maintains regular attendance and punctuality.
  • Overtime, including weekends, may be required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Associates degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Proficient with measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauge pins, height gauges, paint mils testers, surface finish gauges, gauge blocks, etc.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to file correspondence and records according to company plans.
  • Ability to read and understand complex instructions, engineering drawings, bills of materials, test reports, correspondence, and memos.
  • Effective in presenting information and collaborating with managers, salespeople, customers, and factory/support personnel.
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure.
  • Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions in various formats.
