Job summary

Cox Machine, Inc. is seeking a Quality Assurance professional to perform first part and final inspections, educate staff on quality systems, and ensure a quality product is manufactured. The role supports QMS procedures and works across manufacturing to align on quality and delivery goals.

Responsibilities include training, collaboration with departments, and performing in-process reviews to uphold best practices and compliance with customer requirements. The position is on-site in Harper, KS.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years in Quality Assurance with product acceptance authority.
  • Experience using precision measurement instruments.
  • Make decisions based on customer/regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with organizational teams to resolve problems.
  • Inspect and ensure conformance to customer and internal requirements.

  • Provide training and development for all employees as appropriate.
  • Partner with other departments to ensure adherence to QMS work instructions.
  • Collaborate with operations, purchasing, and customer service to meet demands.

  • Communicate potential quality issues to Production and Quality supervision.
  • Perform in-process review with Production and Quality Assurance to follow best practices.

Job description

Communicates and resolves Quality-related issues in a fast-paced manufacturing environment by performing 1st part and final inspections as necessary. Supports the Quality and Manufacturing functions by educating employees on quality systems, quality metrics, and customer engineering. Follows the Quality Management System designated work instructions and procedures to ensure a quality product is manufactured.

Experience Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years of knowledge and experience in a Quality Assurance role with product acceptance authority.
  • Must possess experience using different precision measurement instruments.
Responsibilities
  • Provide training, learning and development where appropriate for all employees.
  • Partner with other departments to ensure adherence to the Quality Management System designated work instructions and procedures to ensure a quality product is manufactured.
  • Collaborate with operations, leaders, purchasing, customer service and others to efficiently meet customer demands.
  • Inspect and evaluate product for quality and defects.
  • Provide visibility to Production and Quality supervision of potential quality issues, as well as input on internal perceptions associated with Quality and Delivery performance.
  • Work with Production and Quality Assurance personnel to perform in-process review and ensure best practices are followed.
  • Perform other related duties, as required to ensure product conformity, internal and external customer demand, best practices and adherence to compliance requirements.
  • Complete AS9102 FAIs as required.
  • Ensure products manufactured meet all customer and internal requirements.

  • Capability to troubleshoot complex and questionable inspections by asking the right questions to get to the root cause of the problem.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment with multiple priorities and shifting time requirements.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in small and large group environments.
  • Ability to pass an eye exam.
