Summary: The Quality Inspector should be familiar with quality requirements at all stages of the manufacturing process. Has advanced knowledge of parts and processes as demonstrated by experience in various departments or through extended time in the role of quality inspector.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Inspect product using gauges, calipers, tape measures, other measuring tools, and visual inspection methods. Includes coordinating with other team members and departments to ship promised product on current day's schedule. Must be flexible with schedule.
2. Read and interpret engineering drawings.
3. Capture and document quality data and enter data per applicable Basic Cause Code in Epicor.
4. Perform all functions within quality requirements utilizing five second checks, checklists, check templates, etc.
5. Own total quality of all work and complete tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules with minimal supervision.
6. Report defective materials or questionable quality conditions to the department SME and complete necessary paperwork (Red Tags, Recuts, etc.).
7. Follow directions and work in a fast-paced, team environment.
8. Maintain work area and equipment in a clean, safe condition following safety regulations.
9. Communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
10. Address issues with products, processes, and behaviors to ensure compliance with company and customer expectations.
11. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or GED preferred, or related quality experience. Minimum of 1 year of experience at Schaefer's. Knowledge of Schaefer products and production processes is essential.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Follow established SOPs and work instructions.
• Interpret company paperwork, part numbers, labels, and packing lists.
• Use production/operational software effectively.
• Complete required training courses.

Physical Demands:

Frequently lift or move materials weighing up to 50 lbs. Regularly stand, bend, stoop, and reach for 8-10 hours. Wear PPE as required.

Work Environment:

Work in an air-conditioned shop environment, possibly at different workstations or shifts as production needs dictate.
