New Hudson Facades is seeking a Quality Inspector to verify curtainwall components against 2D/3D drawings and quality standards. The role involves inspecting materials, logging results, and communicating issues to upstream teams to ensure safe, compliant installations.

You will read CAD drawings, manage NCRs, and maintain inspection records while following NHF safety guidelines. Prior curtainwall/construction experience is preferred.

Formación

• HS Diploma required.
• AS Degree or higher preferred in relevant field.
• Experience in the curtainwall/construction industry.
• Ability to read 2D drawings.
• Familiarity with 3D CAD drawings.

Responsabilidades

• Inspect curtainwall components at various production points for quality and cleanliness.
• Test incoming materials against drawings and standards; log results in Epicor.
• Enter NCRs for discrepant materials and assist with management of rejected parts.
• Read and interpret 2D/3D CAD drawings to verify fabrication and installation accuracy.
• Communicate quality issues to upstream teams and provide supporting information.
• Maintain inspection logs and spreadsheets; track project hours in ADP/Epicor.
• Adhere to NHF safety standards and properly care for inspection tools.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Job DescriptionJob Description

The Quality Inspector’s role is to utilize curtainwall knowledge alongside 2D and 3D engineering / CAD drawings to identify potential quality and installation issues in curtainwall components or units. A Quality Inspector may be assigned work in different areas, depending on production requirements. All Quality Inspectors are required to abide by all applicable New Hudson Façade requirements, as outlined in the Employee Handbook. Quality Inspectors directly report to the Quality Supervisor.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Inspect and approve curtainwall components or units at various points of the manufacturing process for compliance with curtainwall quality/cleanliness expectations.
• Inspect and test incoming materials (aluminum, glass, stone, machined parts, etc.) against drawings, procedures and other defined quality standards; enters inspection results in Epicor; maintains various inspection logs and spreadsheets; inspects completed curtain wall units and crating.
• Enters NCRs for discrepant materials as found after inspection; assists the QC Coordinator in tagging and managing rejected parts.
• Read and manipulate 2D / 3D engineering CAD drawings to determine if curtainwall units and its individual components are fabricated and installed correctly.
• Communicate with upstream quality / assembly personnel when quality issues are identified. Provide information that can support the quality of the completed curtainwall unit.
• Maintain inspection logs and spreadsheets, as needed.
• Utilize ADP / Epicor to track hours spent supporting projects.
• Comply with all safety standards and requirements defined by NHF.
• Care of all assigned tools (calipers, spectrophotometers, protractors, etc.).
• Other tasks as required by management.

Skills and Abilities:

• Experience working in a heavy manufacturing or large-assembly environment.
• Ability to read and understand 2D engineering drawings.
• Familiarity with manipulating 3D engineering drawings on CAD software.
• Advanced knowledge and experience with measurement tools (Tape measure, caliper, protractor, etc).
• Ability to act with professionalism; ability to multitask.
• Ability to follow both written and verbal instruction.
• Communication skills (both written and verbal).

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Applicants must be able to perform repetitive lifting and other physically demanding tasks.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

• HS Diploma
• AS Degree or higher .
• Experience in the curtainwall / construction industry .
