Quality Inspector - 2nd Shift - (1132) (Full Time)

Location: Windsor, CT

Position Summary

Support manufacturing by inspecting products and processes to meet quality and scheduled goals of the company.

Essential Functions

  • Perform final inspection of product.
  • Work in accordance with inspection sheets.
  • Participate in root cause corrective action investigations.
  • Learn and develop hands-on proficiency with inspection processes utilized by the company.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions, engineering drawings or sketches.
  • Prepare inspection reports and document non-conformances.
  • Participate in the operation of and compliance with all safety, hazardous material handling and disposal requirements in accordance with government regulations and company procedures.
  • Maintain a clean work environment in full compliance with all internal, customer and government regulations.
  • Subject to complete vision exam per requirements of National Aerospace Standards (NAS) 410.

Experience and Education

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in aerospace inspection is a must.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Degree/certificate from vocation school or college program is a plus, but extensive inspection experience may substitute for education.

Skills

  • Experience inspecting major rotating hardware or gear box components strongly preferred.
  • Experience in the operation of a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) preferred.
  • Ability to work from sketches and use measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, height stands, indicators and shadow graph.
  • Experience with visual inspection using a microscope is a plus.
  • Knowledge of arithmetic involving decimals and fractions and its application to use sketches and measuring instruments.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Compensation

$40000 - $100000 / year

Compensation is paid hourly and may be adjusted based on level of experience, overtime and shift.
