Responsibilities
  • Inspect, test, and evaluate incoming parts, subassemblies, and fully assembled semiconductor metrology tools.
  • Identify mechanical defects including issues with pneumatic systems, hydraulics, fittings, valves, and mechanical assemblies.
  • Inspect and troubleshoot electrical systems, including controllers, wiring harnesses, sensors, power supplies, and microprocessor-based control units.
  • Verify compliance with engineering drawings, schematics, specifications, and customer requirements.
  • Use precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and rulers.
  • Perform functional testing and verification of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Accept or reject materials and finished products based on inspection results.
  • Clearly document inspection and test results; maintain accurate quality records and inspection reports.
  • Quarantine and manage nonconforming materials in accordance with quality procedures.
  • Communicate inspection findings and corrective actions with manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams.
  • Support supplier quality by managing incoming inspections, vendor quality communications, and returns.
  • Track and report quality metrics including rejected material, failure trends, and vendor performance.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to improve product reliability, quality, and inspection efficiency.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate\'s Degree (AS) in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field required.
  • Bachelor\'s Degree (BS) in Electrical Engineering or related discipline preferred.
  • 2-4 years of hands-on inspection, testing, or quality experience in a manufacturing or equipment-build environment.
  • Experience as an electrical technician, production assembler, test technician, or quality inspector strongly preferred.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings.
  • Familiarity with pneumatic and hydraulic systems and their failure modes.
  • Comfortable working around high-value semiconductor or precision manufacturing equipment.
  • Proficient with measurement tools and inspection documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving mindset, and clear communication skills.
  • Enjoys hands-on technical work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Compensation and Benefits

Base Pay Range: $23.03 - $39.14 Per Hour

Location and total rewards: Primary Location: USA-NJ-Totowa. KLA\'s total rewards package for employees may also include participation in performance incentive programs and eligibility for additional benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, and other voluntary benefits, 401(K) with company matching, ESPP, student debt assistance, tuition reimbursement, development and career growth opportunities, financial planning benefits, wellness benefits including an employee assistance program (EAP), paid time off and paid company holidays, and family care and bonding leave. Interns are eligible for some of the benefits listed. Pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range reflects pay for this position in the primary location identified.
