Job summary

Precision Castparts is seeking a level one quality inspector for the Final Inspection Area. Under direct supervision, you will perform basic inspections and mechanical testing tasks, relying on shop math, reading prints, using standard measuring tools, and reporting results.

0-1 year experience is typical; GED or high school diploma preferred but not required. You will work 1st shift (Wednesday–Sunday) with overtime as business needs demand, collaborating with a team to uphold quality standards.

Qualifications

• Capable of following work instructions and using intranet.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic mechanical inspection tests (shear, tensile, spindle retention, disassembly).
• Read and interpret work orders and instructions.
• Work in a team and follow instructions.
• Ensure tools/equipment meet standards and calibration requirements.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and PPE and participate in proficiency testing.

Position Summary

Working under direct supervision, level one quality Inspectors preform basic inspections tasks relating to mechanical testing in Final Inspection Area. This position calls upon a basic understanding of shop math, print reading, measuring tools, product segregation, and quality reporting. 0-1 Years

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Work safely under functional safety guidelines such as PPE and equipment interaction.
• Adheres to quality processes and work instructions
• Correctly interpret work orders
• Perform Mechanical Inspection Tests (shear, tensile, spindle retention and disassembly testing)
• Work in a team environment, i.e. follow instructions and assist others as needed.
• Participation in Round Robin and Proficiency Testing.
• Ensures tools / equipment meet standards and calibration requirements
• Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Required Skills

• The ability to read and write English.
• The ability to perform basic shop math, fractions, decimals…
• The ability to use basic hand tools, wrenches, etc.
• The ability to navigate intranet to locate process documents - basic computer skills
• The ability to read and interpret work instructions and access instruction from intranet.
