Qualifications

Responsibilities

Who we are looking for:

We are currently searching for a 2nd Shift Quality Inspector for its facility located at 260 Duchaine Blvd, New Bedford, MA, 02745. Reporting to the Director of Quality Control, the Quality Inspector will be responsible for performing random sampling inspections of in-process and finished products, recording and maintaining paperwork.

Responsibilities:

• Perform random sampling inspection of all incoming, in-process, and finished products to ensure quality requirements are met.
• Verify product after each changeover for compliance with requirements.
• Record and maintain all inspection information in designated check sheets.
• Initiate Non-Conformance Reports when defective products are observed, including updating logs for traceability, and follow up for containment and resolution.
• Monitor products on hold and collaborate with cross-functional teams for timely disposition.
• Perform Layered Process Audits (LPA) to ensure process and product compliance.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to achieve site goals.
• Adhere to safety procedures and report unsafe conditions.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years proven experience as a quality inspector.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Attention to detail and a results-oriented, fact-based approach.
• Familiarity with quality testing methods (e.g., vernier caliper, micrometer, hardness test, tension test).
• Experience with ISO9001 Quality Management Systems.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Development Timeline:

Within 3 months: Complete immersion program, understand team and procedures.

Within 6 months: Strengthen team commitment, support QA programs, achieve operational excellence.

Within 12 months: Perform UL and CSA testing, document NCRs and ICARs, interact with plant personnel on quality issues.
