Job summary

Eaton is seeking a Quality Inspector for 2nd Shift in North Carolina (La Grange) to support gage calibration, inspect in-process, incoming, and outgoing materials, and manage routine documentation.

Inspect against drawings and specifications, perform tests, identify defects, and assist in training; adherence to ISO procedures and related documentation is expected.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent and 1-2 years manufacturing or quality experience.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, and government specifications.
• Excellent math skills and conversions between English and metric units.
• Knowledge of basic electrical principles.
• Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future.
• Stand for up to 8 hours and lift up to 35 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and test electrical products and components to drawings and specs.
• Perform in-process, receiving, and final inspections.
• Conduct complete physical inspection of components and assemblies.
• Utilize calipers, micrometers, vision system, and CMM for measurements.
• Record inspection data for historical records and QA metrics.
• Quarantine non-conforming material and tag accordingly.
• Complete paperwork such as serial logs and data sheets.
• Assist with internal audits and calibration scheduling.

Eaton’s EPG CHD EP Americas division is currently seeking a Quality Inspector - 2nd Shift. The hourly rate for this position is $21.90 per hour. Position Overview:

This position assists in the calibration of gages and equipment, inspects in-process, incoming, & out-going materials, works to execute departmental work, trains new inspectors, and handles routine clerical duties and required documentation.

A Quality Inspector is responsible for reviewing products and materials during manufacturing to make sure they meet company requirements. Their duties include measuring objects compared to their intended physical specifications, running quality tests, and identifying defects.

Essential Functions

• Inspect and test electrical products and components to engineering drawings and specifications using inspection procedures and sampling plans as specified.
• Performs in-process, receiving, and final inspections.
• Performs complete physical inspection of components, assemblies, and packaged units.
• Must be capable of using various measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, vision system and CMM
• Record inspection data for historical records, as needed.
• Quarantine non-conforming material and create non-conforming material tag.
• Accurately fills out all necessary paperwork such as serial number logs and special products data sheets. Familiar with COC sheets with shipments.
• Functional knowledge and familiar with Special Government products and related testing and documentation requirements.
• Perform Internal Audits, as needed.
• Assists in seeing that gages are calibrated within the required frequency.
• Working knowledge of ISO procedures, work instructions, and document control (especially engineering drawings)
• Does FAIs (First Article Inspections)
• Helps schedule work through Quality Inspection areas
• Helps with training of Quality employees (and others, if needed)
• Helps keep work area clean.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor or Quality Technician.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

• Completed High School diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution and 1-2 years manufacturing or quality experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical & electrical drawings, and government specifications.
• Excellent math skills, conversions from English to metric and decimals to fractions on part specifications.
• Knowledge of basic electrical principles.
• Use of computer software to enter receipts, first article inspection and NCMA’s.
• Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future
• Remain standing for an extended period of time up to 8 hours
• Able to lift to 35 lbs. on a regular basis

• Accurate interpretation of blueprint information for inspection purposes.
• Strong computers skills. (Windows, Microsoft Office, SAP, and Calibration Database)
