Job summary

Carlson Tool & Manufacturing Corp. in Cedarburg, WI seeks a full-time Quality Inspector to join our precision team. You will inspect tight-tolerance parts for Aerospace, Defense, and Industrial applications in a clean, team-focused setting.

Responsibilities include in-process and final inspection, verifying measurements with micrometers and calipers, and maintaining traceability. Forklift/crane operation may be required; relocation support is available for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of mechanical inspection experience – preferred.
• Strong blueprint reading and GD&T skills.
• Experience with manual inspection equipment.
• A background in Machining or Manufacturing.
• Ability to operate (or become certified in) forklifts and crane systems.

• Ensure parts are clean and traceable before inspection.
• Safely handle parts using forklifts and cranes.
• Use manual measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, height gauges).

• Keep work areas clean, safe, and organized.

What You’ll Do:

In this role, you’ll support precision machining operations through inspection of tight‑tolerance components for Aerospace, Defense, and Industrial applications in a clean, organized and team focused setting.

• Weekly pay: Starting at $20/hr - $25/hr, depending on experience
• 2nd Shift hours available, with an additional 10% Shift Differential on 2nd Shift

What You’ll Bring to the Table:

• 2+ years of mechanical inspection experience – preferred
• Strong blueprint readingand GD&T skills
• Experience with manual inspection equipment
• A background in Machining or Manufacturing
• Ability to operate (or become certified in) forklifts and crane systems

A Day in the Life:

• Perform in-process and final inspection of machined parts
• Ensure parts are clean and free of debris prior to inspection
• Safely handle parts using forklifts, overhead cranes, and jib cranes
• Use manual measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, height gauges) to verify parts meet customer and quality requirements (AS9100, ISO 9001)
• Document inspection results and maintain traceability
• Identify and segregate nonconforming product
• Keep work areas clean, safe, and organized
