Job summary

Qualifications

  • Ability to interpret and follow detailed work instructions and quality standards.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify defects, deviations from standards, and non-conformities.
  • Basic verbal and written communication to document inspection results and report quality issues.
  • Basic math skills for measuring, tolerances, and data.
  • Basic knowledge of quality control tools and measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections of in-process and finished products to verify they meet specifications and quality requirements.
  • Conduct first-piece inspections to confirm newly produced items meet quality requirements before mass production begins.
  • Properly use and maintain measuring and gaging instruments to assess product quality and ensure accurate measurements.
  • Record inspection results and statistical data, enter information into tracking systems, and maintain inspection records and non-conformance reports.
  • Identify non-conformities or quality issues, communicate concerns clearly, and escalate to higher-level quality staff when necessary.
  • Maintain the Master Calibration List, monitor calibration due dates, and ensure equipment remains calibrated and compliant.
  • Perform incoming hardware inspections, assist with shipping-log quantity verification, and complete required documentation.
  • Support quality audits and documentation activities while maintaining 5S and safety, environmental, and quality policies.

Job Summary

OMCO, a MacLean-Fogg Company, is hiring a Quality Inspector at our Phoenix, Arizona manufacturing facility. In this role, you will inspect in-process and finished products, use precision measuring equipment, document results, and help ensure products meet established quality and reliability standards.

  • Location: Phoenix, AZ
  • Work Arrangement: On-site
  • Schedule: 1st Shift, Monday-Thursday, 4:00 AM-2:30 PM; Friday as needed
  • Pay: $21/hour
  • Employment Type: Full-time / Hourly
  • Overtime: Overtime may be required based on business needs.
What You'll Do as a Quality Inspector
  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections of in-process and finished products to verify they meet established specifications and quality requirements.
  • Conduct first-piece inspections to confirm newly produced items meet quality requirements before mass production begins.
  • Properly use and maintain measuring and gaging instruments, including calipers, micrometers, gauges, and similar equipment, to assess product quality and ensure accurate measurements.

  • Identify non-conformities or quality issues, communicate concerns clearly, and escalates issues to higher-level quality staff or supervisors when necessary.
  • Maintain the Master Calibration List, monitor calibration due dates, and help ensure inspection and measuring equipment remains calibrated and compliant.
  • Perform incoming hardware inspections, assist with shipping-log quantity verification, and complete required documentation.
  • Support quality audits and documentation activities while maintaining 5S standards and following applicable safety, environmental, and quality policies and procedures.

  • Basic knowledge of quality control tools and techniques, including gaging instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and height gauges.
  • Basic computer skills for entering data into tracking systems and preparing inspection reports.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, collaborate with inspectors and production staff, and contribute to solutions that improve product quality.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This role involves extended periods of standing and performing visual inspections using measuring equipment. The position requires the ability to lift and move hardware weighing up to 35 pounds.
