Job Title: Quality Inspector – In process and Final inspection

We are AS9100- and FAA-certified, and our products are designed to meet the most stringent performance and reliability standards in the industry.

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and adaptable In-Process and Final Quality Inspector to support our manufacturing and quality assurance activities. The inspector will perform hands-on inspections of subassemblies (e.g., circuit boards), completed products (battery systems, batteries, chargers), and reworked parts to ensure compliance with internal, customer, and regulatory requirements. This role is key to maintaining product quality, documentation traceability, and supporting the closure of nonconformances.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Perform in-process inspections on electronic subassemblies, circuit boards, and mechanical components during various stages of manufacturing.
  • Conduct final inspections on completed battery systems, batteries, and battery chargers prior to shipment, ensuring compliance with FAA, AS9100, and internal specifications.
  • Inspect reworked or repaired product to support NCR closure and MRB activities.
  • Review and verify build documentation, traveler accuracy, and associated inspection records for traceability and completeness.
  • Maintain and update Detailed Inspection Plans (DIPs) and inspection checklists based on part numbers or configurations.
  • Document all inspection results clearly and accurately in digital or hard copy formats in accordance with QMS procedures.
  • Identify and escalate nonconformities; collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Procurement on resolution.
  • Participate in First Article Inspections (FAI) per AS9102 standards as needed.
  • Ensure all inspection activities meet FAA Part 21, AS9100D, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Use standard mechanical and electronic inspection tools, including calipers, micrometers, multimeters, and microscopes.
  • Operate and verify automated visual inspection systems (e.g., Micro-Vu, Keyence), with ability to cross-check measurements manually.
  • Organize and maintain inspection records for audit readiness and configuration control.
  • Support and contribute to continuous improvement activities in the Quality function.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • 3–5 years of quality inspection experience, preferably in aerospace manufacturing with electrical/mechanical assemblies.
  • Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings, GD&T, wiring diagrams, and MIL-STD specifications.
  • Strong working knowledge of FAA regulations, AS9100, and electronic inspection standards.
  • Skilled in using precision inspection tools and equipment (manual and automated).
  • Experience with or ability to program Micro-Vu, Keyence, or other automated measurement systems is a strong plus.
  • Familiar with J-STD-001 workmanship standards (certification ).
  • Excellent organization, documentation, and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to switch between tasks and inspection types quickly and efficiently.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to product quality.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with FAI (AS9102), MRB processes, and QMS documentation systems (e.g., SharePoint, ERP).
  • Prior experience working in a Part 21 PMA or Part 145 Repair Station environment.
  • Knowledge of electro-mechanical systems, batteries, or power electronics.

Due to the potential exposure to ITAR-controlled data and export control regulations, the applicant in this role must be a qualified U.S. person as designated under INA, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) or be eligible for any required authorizations from the U.S. Government.

Physical Demands

Work Environment

  • Work is performed in both controlled office and shop floor environments.
  • Exposure to varying temperatures depending on time of year.
  • Noise levels may be high in the manufacturing area.
