Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of quality inspection experience in a precision manufacturing or machining environment.
  • Strong Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) knowledge.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
  • Hands-on experience with precision measuring instruments.
  • Experience inspecting close-tolerance machined components.
  • Knowledge of nonconformance reporting and corrective action processes.
  • Strong communication skills with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Perform in-process, first article, and final inspections of precision machined components and assemblies.
  • Verify dimensional compliance using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, height gauges, thread gauges, and other precision measuring equipment.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and GD&T requirements.
  • Inspect finished products for dimensional accuracy, workmanship, identification markings, and overall quality.
  • Review inspection reports, test documentation, and quality records for completeness and compliance.
  • Identify, document, and process nonconforming material with Engineering and Manufacturing.
  • Conduct audits of manufacturing and assembly processes to ensure compliance with work instructions and quality procedures.
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective action activities.
  • Maintain inspection equipment and ensure calibration requirements are met.
  • Accurately complete inspection reports, NCRs, and other quality documentation.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects and improve manufacturing processes.

Quality Inspector - Precision Machining

An established precision manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Quality Inspector to support the inspection of close-tolerance machined components and mechanical assemblies. This role is responsible for ensuring products meet engineering drawings, GD&T requirements, customer specifications, and quality standards throughout the manufacturing process.

This opportunity is ideal for candidates with experience in precision machining, pumps, valves, flow control products, rotating equipment, or other industrial manufacturing environments where quality and accuracy are critical.

Responsibilities
  • Perform in-process, first article, and final inspections of precision machined components and mechanical assemblies.

  • Experience inspecting close-tolerance machined components.
  • Knowledge of nonconformance reporting and corrective action processes.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Production teams.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Education
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Technical training, trade school, or quality certifications are a plus.
