Overview

Herzog Contracting Corp. is currently seeking a Quality Inspector in Springfield, VA to join our team. Herzog is constructing a 5,000 ft flyover bridge structure over existing tracks along with track, signal, and heavy civil scopes of work.

The pay range for this position is $100,000.00- $140,000.00 annually. The pay range for this position is for the project assignment at Franconia.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Read and understand civil construction drawings
  • Interpret and understand contract specifications and local codes.
  • Interact with crews and client representatives to ensure work meets contact requirements.
  • Perform field equipment audits
  • Write detailed daily reports
  • Preform daily inspection and checklists on work in the field
  • Regular and consistent engagement, participation and promotion of Herzog's Culture and its essential behaviors are a requirement for this position
  • Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality are a requirement for this position.
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • High level of concentration and attention to detail is required
  • Ability to focus on a defined task for extended period of time
  • Previous experience as a heavy civil inspector desired
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products
Pre-Employment Requirements:
  • Subject to pre-employment background check and motor vehicle report review.
  • Maintain a valid driver's license and endorsements as required per position.
  • Subject to pre-employment physical, medical evaluation, and drug screen due to the safety sensitive nature of this position.
  • Successfully complete and maintain any required safety certification and testing on an annual basis.
Physical Requirements:

  • Perform light work, occasionally exerting up to 20 pounds of force.
  • Able to walk on uneven surfaces.
  • Occasionally ascend/descend step ladders and/or stairs.
  • Regularly sit and stand for an extended period of time.
  • Regularly kneel, bend, and squat.
  • Must be able to hear and distinguish auditory signals as required by the position.
  • Able to work in conditions with loud noise; work on/around heavy/moving machinery.
  • Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow, and sleet).
