Overview

Herzog Contracting Corp. is currently seeking a Project Engineer throughout the United States to join our team.

Duties and Responsibilities

*This is a non-exhaustive overview of the job duties for this position.

  • Assist Project Manager and Construction Manager by providing field and management support during pre-construction and construction activities.
  • Learn, understand and ensure follow-through on all contractual requirements for both Herzog and the client.
  • Review and log shop drawings; assist field and office engineers with processing of submittals, RFI’s, quantity tracking, labor production and daily reporting of field activities.
  • Provide coding for materials, labor, equipment, vendor and subcontractor invoices.
  • Procure and ensure timely delivery of materials to the project.
  • Assist with Subcontract administration.
  • Acquire and assist with obtaining and closing construction-related permits.
  • Mentor and provide oversight for field engineers.
  • Identify and lead project closeout requirements throughout construction.
  • Regular and consistent engagement, participation and promotion of Herzog’s Culture and its essential behaviors are a requirement for this position.
  • Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality are a requirement for this position.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or equivalent experience in a construction related position preferred.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work with a team.
  • Must have strong organization skills.
  • Must be highly motivated.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with Procore is a plus.
Pre-Employment Requirements
  • Subject to pre-employment background check and motor vehicle report review.
  • Maintain a valid driver's license and endorsements as required per position.
  • Subject to pre-employment physical, medical evaluation, and drug screen due to the safety sensitive nature of this position.
  • Successfully complete and maintain any required safety certification and testing on an annual basis.
