Job summary

Howmet Aerospace seeks a skilled Quality Inspector to ensure product conformance from blueprint to final inspection on site in Skokie, IL. You will operate precision inspection tools and review calibration logs across manufacturing areas, ensuring documentation and certifications meet internal standards.

The role requires at least 3 years’ related experience, metal forming familiarity, and proficiency with ERP/CAD systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years related experience and/or training.
• Experience in metal forming preferred.
• Extensive experience in calibration and GD&T.
• ERP & CAD experience preferred.
• Microsoft Office experience required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure product conformance to blueprint.
• Inspect hardware using calipers, micrometers, comparator, height gauge, indicator, profilometer, hardness tester, etc.
• Review & manage calibration log & schedule for Inspection & Mfg areas.
• Review work orders for completion of operations and required documentation.
• Review ERP system for retained information.
• Review raw material certificates for conformity to standards.
• Ensure products and processes comply with QS/QMS requirements.
• Interface with internal departments to maintain material, services and product control.
• Create and modify comparator overlays.
• Document, investigate, and contain non-conforming material.
• Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for ensuring product conformity to blueprint
• Inspect hardware using various inspection equipment, including calipers, micrometers, comparator, height gage, indicator, profilometer, hardness tester, etc.
• Review &/or manage calibration log & schedule for Inspection & Mfg areas
• Review work order for completion of operations and required documentation
• Review ERP (JD Edwards) system for required retained information
• Review raw material certificates and ensure conformity to industry or internal standards
• Ensure products and processes comply with the relevant requirements of the quality management system.
• Interface with internal departments to engage in activities that ensure continuous control over material, services and products.

• Document, investigate, & contain non-conforming material
