Job summary

MMI Engineered Solutions is seeking a Quality Inspector to perform inspections, maintain quality documentation, and support production teams in addressing quality concerns. This hands-on role ensures parts and processes meet established standards, with a focus on accuracy and timely feedback.

The position involves working in close collaboration with cross-functional teams on the manufacturing floor, lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, or 3 years in quality inspection/auditing.
• Familiarity with injection molding processes and/or components preferred.
• Understanding of inspection techniques.
• Experience using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and check fixtures.
• Strong communication and organization skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain First Article samples and VAS boards.
• Maintain Quality Process books and ensure inspection sheets are filled.
• Perform dimensional checks on parts being manufactured.
• Support production teams on quality issues and containment actions.
• Assist with floor inspections, process books, gaging parts, and sorting.
• Contribute to plant-wide 5S initiatives.

Job description

MMI Engineered Solutions is looking to add aQuality Inspector to our manufacturing team. This hands-on role is responsible for performing inspections, maintaining quality documentation, and supporting production teams in identifying and addressing quality concerns. The Quality Inspector will play an important role in ensuring parts and processes consistently meet establish quality standards.

Shift Schedule - Monday through Wednesday 12:00pm-6:15pm and alternating Thursday/Friday or Saturday/Sunday 6:00am-6:15pm.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain First Article samples and VAS (Visual Acceptance Standard) boards

• Maintain Quality Process books, while ensuring all parameters on inspection check sheets are filled during each run.

• Perform dimensional checks on parts being manufactured.

• Support production teams on quality issues and containment actions

• Assist with floor inspections, including process books, gaging parts, and internal sorting.

• Contribute to plant-wide 5S (Clean, Organized, Safe) initiatives

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma, and/or 3 years of experience in a quality inspection or auditing role

• Familiarity with injection molding processes and/or components preferred

• Understanding of inspection techniques

• Experience using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and check fixtures.

• Strong communication and organization skills

• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk on the production floor for extended periods

• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Work Environment & Expectations:

• This position requires attention to detail, a hands-on approach, and strong communication with cross-functional teams.

• Work under direct supervision and follow established procedures while maintaining awareness of safety and quality across the floor.

• About 90% of your time will be spent in the manufacturing environment, and you'll be expected to act quickly when quality or safety concerns arise.
