Job summary

AIRO Group in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Quality Inspector to perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of production parts and assemblies. Experience with GD&T is preferred. You will read blueprints, interpret specifications, and complete First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) using NetInspect and standard measurement tools.

Experience with calibration and measurement equipment is a plus. The role requires AS9100/ISO 9001 awareness, strong attention to detail, and clear communication

Qualifications

  • Three years minimum experience in inspection or aerospace manufacturing.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and customer specifications.
  • Knowledge of GD&T and AS9100/ISO 9001/AS9102 standards.
  • Familiarity with First Article Inspection (FAI) processes using in-house systems.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret technical documents and translate requirements to hardware.
  • Perform incoming inspections of products, parts, and materials; conduct in-process and final inspections.
  • Complete First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) and maintain inspection records.
  • Coordinate with vendors to address product quality issues and non-conformances.
  • Select appropriate measuring tools and document measurement data; ensure traceability.
  • Assist in training operators on Quality Assurance procedures.

Job Summary

Quality Inspector performs various receiving inspections, in-process inspections, verification of completed paperwork, identifying non-conformance issues, final product inspection and checking dimensions of production detail parts and assemblies using hand tools such as calipers, scales, micrometers and height gauge. Basic AS9102, First article skills. Inspectors should be proficient in blueprint reading as well as specification interpretation and be able to apply these skills to preform first article inspection using in-house programs such as Net Inspect. The Inspector should be able to identify drawing revision changes as well as purchase order requirements. Basic knowledge of the requirements, maintenance, and implementation of AS9100 guidelines is required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret technical documents and translate requirements to physical hardware
  • Communicate quality issues clearly and constructively to team members
  • Perform incoming inspections of products, parts, and materials
  • Conduct in-process and final inspections in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Complete First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs)
  • Responsible for coordinating and communicating with vendors to address product quality issues.
  • Select appropriate measuring tools and techniques, understanding accuracy versus precision
  • Enter, scan, and maintain manufacturing and quality records
  • Identify inspection errors and initiate corrective actions
  • Read and interpret blueprints, including critical, major, and minor characteristics
  • Use inspection planning tools to perform product audits, determine sample sizes, and pull random samples
  • Assist in training operators on Quality Assurance and manufacturing procedures
Pre-requisite Knowledge, Skills and Education
  • J-STD-001 and/or IPC-A-610, IPC-A-620 certifications preferred
  • Three years minimum experience in inspection or aerospace manufacturing.
  • Ability to understand customer specifications and requirements
  • Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerances as well as blue print reading.
  • Experience with ISO 9001, AS9100, and AS9102
  • Knowledge of FAI's, DIP's, and Net Inspect.
  • Effective communication skills both oral and written
  • Good organizational skills
Physical and Mental Requirements
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds safely
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with employees and management
  • Manual dexterity required for inspection tasks
  • Ability to push, pull, bend, stoop, and reach above and below shoulder level
  • Ability to move throughout a 25,000 square foot warehouse facility
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English
  • Correctable vision and hearing
