Job summary

IS International seeks a Quality Inspector to ensure energy storage products and installations meet stringent quality standards. The role conducts inspections, manages non-conforming materials, performs RCA, and maintains project documentation.

This traveling position supports projects across multiple states, with 4–6 weeks away from home per assignment, requiring strong collaboration and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field preferred.
• Proven experience in QA/QC in energy storage, manufacturing, or construction settings.
• Familiarity with Lean/5S and ERP/QMS databases.

Responsibilities

• Site and production inspections and ITPs for installations and milestones.
• Identify non-conformances, document NCRs, and track corrective actions.
• Prepare turnover documents, quality audits, and project reports.
• Collaborate with project managers and subcontractors on quality and safety.
• Perform root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.

Job description

The Quality Inspector (or QA/QC Technician) ensures that energy storage products, components, and on-site installations adhere to strict quality standards and specifications. They perform inspections, manage non-conforming materials, conduct root cause analysis (RCA), and maintain detailed documentation for battery energy storage systems (BESS).

This is a traveling position supporting projects in California, Wisonsin, Ohio and more. Candidiates can expect to be away from home 4 -6 weeks at a time

Key Responsibilities

• Site and Production Inspection: Conduct Inspections and Test Plans (ITP) for equipment installation, commissioning, and manufacturing milestones.
• Non-Conformance Management: Identify, flag, and document defective materials or workmanship, and track corrective actions (NCRs) to completion.
• Documentation and Reporting: Prepare, oversee, and maintain turnover documentation, quality audits, and weekly/monthly project quality reports.
• Supplier and Site Collaboration: Partner with Project Managers and subcontractors to ensure adherence to quality standards and safety protocols.
• Root Cause Analysis: Perform RCA on quality issues to prevent recurrence.

Typical Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field preferred.
• Experience: Proven experience in QA/QC, ideally within energy storage, manufacturing, or construction environments.
• Technical Skills: Familiarity with quality control methodologies (e.g., Lean, 5S) and proficiency with ERP and Quality Management databases.
• Attributes: Strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively.
