Job summary

Ingersoll Rand is seeking a Quality Inspector in Ocala, FL to support quality assurance and control across manufacturing materials, processes, and products. The role emphasizes inspection, testing, NCR handling, and documentation to ensure conformance with specifications and company standards.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent with manufacturing experience, ability to read blueprints, and familiarity with quality standards such as ISO 9001.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent or two or more years’ experience in a manufacturing environment with welding, electrical wiring, and assembly processes.
  • Receiving inspections on machine parts background.
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments and accurately interpret the results.
  • Prefer welding knowledge of ASME Section VIII, Div. I welding requirements and GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, SAW, and SMAW welding processes.
  • Understand and read WPS/PQRs/WPQs
  • Individual should have knowledge of manufacturing, and typical office software spreadsheet and word processing programs.
  • Read and understand fabrication blueprints/drawings

Responsibilities

  • Plans, inspects, analyzes, dispositions, documents, and communicate effectively the results of areas of oversight, including the inspection and testing of components, processes, and products throughout our operations.
  • Analyzes and interprets blueprints, data, manuals, and other materials to determine specifications, inspection and testing procedures, adjustment and certification methods, formulas, and measuring instruments required.
  • Communicates significant issues or developments identified to management, being mindful to utilize the NCR process to quarantine and disposition materials suspected or confirmed to be non-conforming though MRB/NCR meetings to drive closure for open NCRs.
  • Organizes and maintains files and folders in a manner that all information is current and readily retrievable for presentation to third party inspector and/or the Document Coordinator.
  • Works with other team members to resolve quality and quality documentation issues promptly and effectively to support applicable procedures, programs, and company needs.
  • Develops and/or maintains procedures and instructions supporting quality requirements for components, processes, and products.
  • Maintains a current working knowledge of applicable international, governmental, regulatory, customer, and industry quality standards.
  • Prepares and presents timely, concise, and conclusive technical quality information to team members and management.
  • Follows company policies, manuals, procedures, and work instructions in a conclusive, organized manner.
  • Assists other departments with quality related tasks and information.
  • Signs NCRs on behalf of the Quality Department.
  • Inspects, tests, or measures materials, products, installations, and work for conformance to specifications.
  • Calibrate and adjust instruments and equipment to maintain accuracy. Perform routine maintenance and repairs on measurement equipment. Maintain calibration records and logs for all instruments.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality management standards. Ability to perform internal audits communicate findings and generate reports based on what is acceptable and what is deficient and drive corrective actions.
  • Work with other team members to achieve quality and efficiency improvements.
  • Promote and maintain a safe working environment by modeling safe work habits and housekeeping practices.

SUMMARY

Plans, organizes, conducts, evaluates, dispositions, and reports on activities associated with Quality Assurance and Control in regard to manufacturing materials, processes, and products. Activities include auditing, problem analysis, data gathering, problem resolution, and processing documentation in a concise and timely manner to support company objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
