Job summary

Nefab Packaging West in Newark, CA is seeking a Quality Inspector to ensure products meet customer drawings and acceptance criteria across buildings within the division. You will report to the Regional Quality Manager and conduct inspections, FAI, and nonconformity handling.

The role requires a degree in engineering or equivalent experience, 2 years in QA, English fluency, and hands-on measurement skills. Local candidates only; relocation not offered.

Qualifications

  • University degree required; B.S. in Systems Engineering preferred or equivalent experience.
  • 2 years of quality assurance experience.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).
  • Ability to interpret drawings and use measuring devices.

Responsibilities

  • Make incoming inspections and keep records for raw materials or finished goods.
  • Approve new items or new product introductions and perform the FAI.
  • Prepare discrepant material reports in MasterControl and coordinate with purchasing on discrepancies.
  • Follow up locations in AX and physically ensure cleanliness and disposition (credit notes, rework, reuse, scrap).
  • Collaborate with production to identify and resolve quality issues.
  • Verify inspections performed by production personnel and provide training on criteria and instruments.
  • Support customer complaints and supplier corrective actions (SCAR) and quality alerts.
  • Adhere to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 policies and procedures.

As a Quality Inspector you will be responsible for ensuring that Nefab Products meet customer requirements established in the drawings and acceptance and rejection criteria in the different buildings within the division.

This position is located in Newark, CA, and you will report to the Regional Quality Manager

Hourly rate: $21-26 per hour, D.O.E

Main Responsibilities
  • Make incoming inspections and keep records (raw material or finished goods) (GROUP-PROC-0012 Inbound goods inspection).
  • Approve new items or new product introductions and perform the FAI (GROUP-PROC-0010 FAI).
  • Make the discrepant material report for manufactured or traded products in MasterControl,
  • send rejection report to purchasing department in case of discrepancies on traded products, identify nonconforming product (GROUP-PROC-0009 Product Discrepancies).
  • Make a follow up to the on hold location (in AX and physically) and ensure its cleaning (credit notes, rework, reuse, scrap).
  • Work with production to identify and resolve quality issues.
  • Verify inspections completed by fellow production personnel.
  • Provide training: acceptance/rejection criteria, released of first production pieces, in process and final inspections, measurement instruments, divulgate quality alerts, on hold area, or any other assigned.
  • Support the management of customer complaints (Ex: coordinate segregations of product, if necessary, make quality alerts and provide training) and SCARs (supplier corrective action request).
  • Adhere to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 Policies and Procedures.
  • Other duties as needed.
