Job summary

Rocky Brands, Inc. is seeking a quality inspector to uphold product quality and safety across its Ohio operations. The role requires attention to detail, basic math skills, and strong communication to document findings and collaborate with multiple teams.

You will perform inspections, report issues using standard procedures, and ensure compliance with ASTM and other applicable standards. This is a full-time, on-site position with a stable schedule.

Qualifications

  • Must have at least a High School diploma or GED.
  • Minimum two years of experience in quality inspection or related field preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and good written/verbal communication.
  • Basic math and computer skills.
  • Reliable, trustworthy, and able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all work in a manner that is safe for you and fellow co-workers.
  • Organize inspections to review and report quality issues using AQL inspection techniques and software.
  • Prepares quality documentation and reports to present to management team.
  • Report all discrepancies with visual aids as well as written communication.
  • Enhance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership of quality findings.
  • Recognize current standards and policies (ASTM, CSA, NFPA, etc.) and assure all standards are met.
  • Keep records of quality reports, and relevant documentation.
  • Communicate with Quality Manager during inspections.
  • Collaborating with various departments regarding inspection.
  • Ensure products meet set quality and safety standards.
  • Ability to differentiate between colors and shades of color.

Required Key Skills and Qualifications
  • High School diploma or General Educational Development test equivalent
  • Minimum two years of experience in quality inspection or related field is preferred
  • Self-starter with strong work ethics, positive attitude and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to do basic math and basic computer skills
  • Outstanding communication skills, written and verbal
  • Excellent organizational and leadership abilities
  • Physical strength to lift to 50 lbs. and physical stamina to stand all day
  • Reliable and Trustworthy
  • A valid state driver’s license
  • Reliable transportation to travel between locations, distribution and corporate offices

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

Corporate Office: This position operates in a professional office environment. Work is typically performed in a climate-controlled setting with standard office equipment, including computers, phones, copiers, and printers. The role requires the ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods, as well as to move throughout the office to access files, equipment, and meeting spaces. Noise levels are generally low to moderate.

The employee is expected to maintain a neat, clean, and professional workspace and follow company guidelines for workplace appearance and conduct. The role may require occasional adjustments to support business needs, such as attending in-office meetings, collaborating with colleagues on-site, or participating in video calls where professional on-camera appearance is expected.

Distribution Center: This position operates within a fast- paced distribution center environment. Work is performed around conveyor systems, pallet jacks, forklifts, and other material-handing equipment. Noise levels range from moderate to loud depending on operational activity. Employees may work in areas with concrete floors, high-traffic zones, and variable lighting.

Temperatures may fluctuate based on seasonal weather and warehouse ventilation. Work may occur in shipping/receiving dock areas where outdoor conditions can impact airflow and temperature.

The role requires frequent standing, walking, and moving throughout the facility, including navigating between aisles, racks, and storage locations.

Employees are expected to maintain a clean, safe workspace and follow all company safety policies and operational procedures.
