Job summary

Watts Water Technologies in Export, PA is seeking a Quality Inspector to join the Quality and Operations Team. You will perform incoming and in-process inspections of parts and components, document results, and support calibration and measurement activities on the shop floor.

You will develop inspection methods, assist with PPAPs, RMA handling, and contribute to continuous improvement projects. The role requires a HS diploma and 1+ year quality inspection experience; AS degree and ASQ certs

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required; AS degree/technical discipline preferred.
  • 1+ years of quality inspections/manufacturing experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret part/assembly drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and perform incoming inspections and in-process monitoring.
  • Update inspection logs and generate calibration documents/reports.
  • Support calibration system development and audit PPAP processes.
  • Lead testing and data collection for quality improvements and RMA evaluations.

Watts is a leading brand with a quality reputation — and we have a dynamic future ahead.Scope of PositionThis individual, as part of the Quality and Operations Team, will be responsible for completing incoming inspection and in-process inspection of parts/components for the Quality Assurance Department ensuring that products and materials meet company standards. Also providing technical assistance to support daily operations, projects, measurement methods and performance testing, and execution of the Quality Business System.This position does not have direct reports.This position reports to Manager, Quality. This role is onsite and is based Export, PA.Shift is either 6:30 am- 3pm or 8:30am-5pm.Primary Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesCoordinate and perform incoming inspections and in-process monitoring activities for parts/components.Update and maintain all required incoming documentation and inspection logs.Measuring: Comparing objects to their intended physical specifications.Make decisions using detailed acceptance criteria and product specifications regarding quality of the parts/components.Complete gage calibrations and provide detailed calibration documents/reports.Assist with continuous improvement functions.Develop and improve inspection methods.Develop and improve gage calibration system.Develop and upgrade departmental procedures (Quality Business System).Participate in the Quick Kaizen program to meet Continuous Improvement goals.Provide support for projects that will support manufacturing, engineering and quality efforts.Perform inspections and testing for special projects.Perform additional inspections, testing, and detailed data collection for PPAP’s.Provide detailed documentation of all worked performed.Lead and participate in required testing to support manufacturing and new product development.Provide training and coaching on inspection and calibration methods.Coordinate and perform evaluations on returned products (Returned Material Authorization).Update and make entries into the RMA database.Coordinate RMA activities with Receiving, Customer Service, and Accounting.Participate and provide input to the Material Review Board. Communication: Collaborating with Production, Materials, CustomerService teams to communicate issues and requirements andinspection results. Assume responsibility for other projects andduties as assigned by Company management.Required QualificationsHigh School Diploma1+ years of experience performing quality inspections/ManufacturingUnderstanding inspection techniques and ability to use inspection equipment (micrometers, calipers, CMM, microscope, height gages, etc.)Ability to read and interpret part/assembly drawingsComputer proficiency on Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Explorer)Excellent interpersonal skills and written communication skills are requiredUnderstanding of and adherence to applicable laws, codes, policies, regulations, and safety practices and procedures, as applicable.Must successfully establish employment eligibility and satisfactorily complete background checks, including required pre-employment testing as a condition of employment.Preferred QualificationsA.S.
