Quality Inspector needed for a manufacturing company in Garden Grove, CA.
Temporary to Hire opportunity. 2nd Shift,2:30 PM - 11:00 PM, Monday - Friday. Paying $25-30/hr, depending on experience. Three-month training period will, the hours for this will be different.
Training Hours:First 3 months, 11:30 AM - 8:00 PM, Monday - Friday.
Position includes performing complex set-ups and first article and/or in-process dimensional and visual inspections of machined parts and completed precision bearing assemblies at various stages of manufacturing to determine conformance to established specifications, tolerances, and workmanship standards.
Responsibilities:
- Interprets blueprints, sketches, process sheets, engineering specifications and standards toperform first article and in process dimensional visual checking of manufactured parts atvarious stages to assure conformance to standard.
- Utilizes shop math in all dimensionalchecking as well as precision measuring devices.
- Sets up and uses standard and special gages and/or related precision measuring devices tocheck parts and assemblies for conformance to specifications.
- Utilizes referencehandbooks used by inspection and manufacturing to figure angle function involvingtrigonometry in setting up gages.
- Recognizes faulty gauging techniques and correctssame.
- Verifies all gauging prior to completing dimensional checks on parts in process or fromvendors.
- Inspects materials received from vendors for conformance to specification, cleanliness, structure and hardenability.
- Checks parts visually for burrs, finish, burns and any related defects that would be causefor the rejection of parts.
- Checks completed assemblies for functional and other operating characteristics usingstandard and special test apparatus.
- Inspects returned goods to verify if the cause or failure or rejection is as stated bycustomer. Fills out the required charts, forms and reports.
Requirements:
- Requires at least 5 years experience as a precision inspector for machine shop operationsand at least one year of experience in inspection of bearings or similar high precisionproducts and assemblies.
- CMM inspection knowledge is a plus.
- High School Diploma or GED Required.
- Must be able to read blueprints and be thoroughly familiar with mechanical and electrical gages and gauging techniques.
- Competency in reading and interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating andmaintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to effectively speak before groups of customers or before employees withinthe organization.
- Competency to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one or two stepinstructions.
- Ability to deal with standardized situations that have only occasional or no variables.
Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $25.00 - $30.00 Per Hour
