Job summary

Ardent Staffing Solutions seeks an experienced Quality Inspector to join our manufacturing team in Chelmsford, MA. This direct-hire role reports to the Quality Manager and requires hands-on electromechanical inspection to ensure compliance with drawings and customer specifications.

You will inspect incoming materials, in‑process assemblies, and finished goods, operate test equipment, log data, and support corrective actions.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of hands-on quality inspection experience in electromechanical manufacturing.
• Familiarity with IPC-A-610 and IPC-A-620 workmanship standards.
• Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, schematics and engineering specs.
• Strong written and verbal communication for cross-functional reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic ERP data entry.
• Commitment to workplace safety and OSHA protocols.

Responsibilities

• Inspect materials and assemblies for compliance with drawings and customer specifications.
• Set up and operate test instruments and measurement equipment, including pull testing.
• Log inspection data and maintain non-conformance statistics; assist with charting/TQM initiatives.
• Identify quality discrepancies and initiate corrective action processes.
• Interpret BOMs and work instructions; support other inspectors and ensure OSHA compliance.

Compensation: $60,000 – $63,000 per year (depending on experience)
Schedule: Monday – Friday
Reports To: Quality Manager

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Quality Inspector to join our growing manufacturing team in the Chelmsford, MA area. This is an immediate, Direct Hire opening reporting directly to the Quality Manager. Key Responsibilities

• Product Inspection: Conduct visual, mechanical, and electrical inspections on incoming materials, in-process assemblies, and finished goods to ensure full compliance with engineering drawings, customer specifications, and industry workmanship standards.
• Testing & Equipment Operation: Set up and operate various test instruments and measurement equipment, including conducting and reviewing pull testing.
• Documentation & Reporting: Log inspection data, maintain accurate non-conformance statistics, report equipment malfunctions, and assist with statistical charting/TQM initiatives.
• Troubleshooting & Corrective Actions: Identify quality discrepancies, document non-conformances, and initiate corrective action processes when necessary.
• Collaboration & Support: Interpret Bills of Materials (BOMs), parts lists, and work instructions; assist other inspectors on complex assignments; and ensure adherence to company and OSHA safety regulations.

Minimum Qualifications

• At least 5 years of hands-on quality inspection experience (electromechanical manufacturing environment strongly preferred).
• Active or previous familiarity with IPC-A-610 and/or IPC-A-620 workmanship standards.
• Proven ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, schematics, and engineering specifications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic manufacturing database/ERP entry.
• Commitment to workplace safety and compliance with standard OSHA protocols.
