Job summary

Prinova USA is seeking a Quality Inspector to support daily QA/QC activities on the Carol Stream, IL production floor. You will verify GMPs, HACCP compliance, PPE usage, and perform inspections with documentation review to ensure product quality and regulatory adherence.

The role requires an Associate's degree or equivalent experience, with strong regulatory knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office. ERP experience is preferred, and the position offers competitive pay and full benefits.

Quality Inspector

Department: Quality/Regulatory, Solutions

Summary

Primary responsibility for daily and assigned project QA/QC activities associated with in-process inspections for manufacturing and warehouse. Equipment swabbing, room clearance, sample verification, and work order review. Inspecting compliance with GMPs, HACCP, and PPE to follow our Quality System procedures and practices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform production in-process inspections at the required frequencies, which include label approvals, CCP verification, weight checks, and manufacturing pre and post-operational review.
• Generate associated documentation and communicate non-conformances.
• Perform physical comparison of manufactured product. (Color, Odor, Appearance).
• Perform sieve analysis on raw and blended materials.
• Perform ATP, EMP, allergen, and equipment swabbing.
• Perform equipment calibration: scales, lab equipment, ATP meter, magnets.
• Perform swabbing, gathering of documentation, and the completion of Allergen, EMP, Sanitation, and HACCP validation reports.
• Perform daily pre- and post-operational verification in logbooks, operational documentation, and manufacturing processes.
• Perform monthly internal GMP audits, screen and scoop inventory, and other assigned duties on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
• Inventory quality-related chemicals and supplies needed for quality-related tasks.
• Investigate, complete, and maintain sRCA, incident investigations, Holds, and Deviations.
• Assist in quality-related training activities.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to implement corrective actions and improve overall quality assurance processes.
• Assist in hygienically taking production pre-shipment samples.
• Keep abreast of current regulations and industry standards.
• Abide by all food safety programs and be able to monitor the area for food safety adherence.
• Will complete other duties as assigned.

Required Education and/or Experience

• Associate's degree (A. A.) or minimum of one-year equivalent work experience.

Required Skills/Abilities

• Ability to read, interpret, and apply regulatory information, industry standards, and international and federal food regulations.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. Thorough understanding of unit conversions and nutritional analysis calculations.
• Demonstrated ability to evaluate the accuracy, validity, and appropriateness of information and make sound business judgments.
• Skilled in Microsoft Office applications.
• ERP experience preferred.

Work Conditions & Physical Requirements

• Work environment is normally on the production floor. Must be able to make frequent rounds in a warehouse environment
• Ability to stand for an extended periods of time
• Must be able to wear any required PPE such as scrubs, hair net, lab coat, safety glasses, and facemask
• Ability to work in a packaging area with a moderate powder substance in the air with or without a respirator
• Ability to work above shoulders
• Other physical requirements include frequent squatting, bending, twisting, and bi-lateral wrist movement
• Ability to work around a variety of different smells and aromas
• Ability to adjust work schedule as business needs require
• Ability to lift/or move 55 pounds infrequently
• Ability to safely handle production equipment and stamina and endurance to perform physical functions throughout the day
