Job summary

Aquatech is seeking a full-time Quality Inspector to support inspection of fabricated equipment for water treatment systems at Canonsburg, PA and occasionally at supplier sites. Some travel may be required.

The role reports to the Director of Quality and is non-exempt. The inspector will review WPS/PQRs, NDE reports, and material certificates, track non-conformities, and ensure timely documentation is provided to customers.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent; technical or quality-related education preferred.
• Five (5) years of related experience required.
• CWI certification preferred; NDE and auditor certifications are a plus.
• Experience inspecting piping, pressure vessels, and structural fabrications to codes.

Responsibilities

• Track and ensure the closure of all non-conformities.
• Submit project quality documentation (EOMR, etc.) to the customer in a timely and complete manner.
• Review contract documents and job specifications to meet customer requirements.
• Maintain Project Inspection and Test Plans; inspect vessels, piping, and fabrications to codes.
• Project Quality Manager will communicate with suppliers and internal teams daily.

Aquatech has an immediate need for a full-time Quality Inspector who will work out of our Canonsburg, PA or our Hartland, WI location. The Quality Inspector will perform the duties described in the job description below and will be considered a Non-Exempt employee.

The Quality Inspector supports the Aquatech Team by performing inspections of fabricated equipment and components used in the manufacture of water treatment systems. The Quality Inspector will perform inspections at the Aquatech facility in Canonsburg, PA, and occasionally at fabricators and manufacturers that supply their products to Aquatech. Some travel may be required. Quality Inspectors report to the Director of Quality and support multiple Project Quality Managers.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Graduate OR Technical, Welding, or quality-related higher education is preferred.
• Five (5) years of related experience is required.
• A current CWI certification is preferred.
• NDE and Auditor Certifications are a plus.
• Experience in inspecting piping, pressure vessels, and structural fabrications to the above-mentioned codes.
• Experience with supplier surveillance and the review of quality documentation such as WPS/PQRs, NDE reports, and material certificates.
• Beneficial Experience: Supervisory experience, Quality Auditing, Quality Management, or ISO 9001:2015 experience.
• Significant travel (30%+), both domestic and overseas, is required.

Job Description

• Track and ensure the closure of all non-conformities.
• Submit the required project quality documentation (EOMR, etc.) to the customer in a timely and complete manner.
• Review contract documents and applicable job specifications (Turnover Packages). Assure that the customer requirements for projects are met or that exceptions are taken as necessary.
• Maintain Project Inspection and Test Plans. Inspect pressure vessels, piping, and structural fabrications to applicable codes. Assure project quality requirements are met and properly documented.
• The Project Quality Manager will communicate with suppliers and internal Project Teams daily.

Skill Requirements

• Must be able to read fabrication drawings for pressure vessels, piping, and structural fabrications.
• Must be able to read electrical drawings and P&IDs.
• Knowledge of ASME and AWS welding requirements.
• Requires knowledge of ASME Sections V, VIII/IX, ASME B31.1, ASME B31.3, and AWS D1.1 codes.
• Must be able to communicate professionally with suppliers and customers.
• Ability to review project and customer technical specifications and incorporate the requirements into project quality plans and I&TPs.
• Computer literate (MS Word, Excel & Outlook)
• Ability to use a computer

Physical Job Demands

Lifting/carrying/moving 50 lbs, may need to climb ladders cannot be afraid of heights, and will need to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while on site. Involves sitting at a desk for extended periods. Needs a high degree of concentration in a busy area.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent
• One (1) or more years of experience in a manufacturing or fabricating environment or prior experience in the inspection of fabricated equipment or components
• AWS SCWI, CWI, or CAWI a plus. NDE experience is a plus.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and a passport or the ability to obtain a passport.
