Job summary

Paylocity currently seeks a Quality Inspector to inspect trailers on our assembly lines in Bowling Green, KY. You will measure systems to ensure they meet quality standards and perform receiving inspections of incoming parts against drawings.

Document nonconformities, coordinate with line managers, and ensure corrective actions are completed while maintaining safety and quality throughout the process.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to read/interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Basic mathematical and computer skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Fill in all reports properly and completely.
• Operate required tools including brake test machine, calipers, and other hand tools.
• Perform receiving inspection of incoming parts against drawings and specifications.
• Monitor on trailer assembly lines and sub-assemblies for quality.
• Follow safety procedures and report any hazards.
• Assist in initiating corrective action for quality issues and sign-offs.
• Maintain communication with assembly line managers about out-of-spec conditions.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a Quality Inspector to perform trailer inspections on trailers completed by the assembly lines using a variety of inspection standards/criteria. Measure systems to ensure they function and meet quality standards. Perform receiving inspection of incoming purchased materials and components using engineering drawings/blueprints and measuring equipment to verify parts conform to print. Document any nonconformities/findings that do not meet set requirements, and ensure those findings are repaired and meet set requirements. Review and verify additional documentation with each job packet to ensure prior operations have been signed off as complete as well as visually inspecting those completed items.

Requirements

Knowledge / Experience / Skills

• High school diploma or GED required
• Written and verbal communication skills
• Basic math skills
• Basic knowledge of computers
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings/blueprints

Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities

• Fill in all reports properly and completely
• Operate all types of tools essential and necessary to the job, including but not limited to brake test machine, light tester, man lift, bumper jack, ABS tester, wrenches, tape measure, and calipers.
• Perform receiving inspection of incoming purchased parts and materials, verifying critical dimensions against current revision engineering drawings.
• Work on trailer assembly line and sub-assembly areas monitoring those items as designated.
• Knowledge and adherence to all relevant safety procedures
• Assist in the initiation of corrective action by management in the event of substandard quality levels or failure to meet acceptance or reliability standards
• Maintain communications with all assembly line managers, continuously informing these managers of all out-of-specification conditions, especially where noted on more than one unit

Physical Requirements

• Requires minimum of 10 hours of standing, squatting, kneeling, pushing and pulling with a full range of body mechanics/movements.
• Occasionally required to life and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to climb and descend ladders, stairs, platforms and climb in and out of trailers.
• Must be able to operate safely and work with a variety of power and hand tools as well as compressed air safely and utilize personal protective equipment.
