Job summary

Join Hansen Corporation, an ElectroCraft Company, as an Quality Inspector and be at the heart of crafting precision synchronous motors for our customers. The Quality Inspector is responsible for performing inspections of component parts, purchased materials, and finished assemblies to ensure compliance with engineering specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements. This role uses a variety of measuring equipment and inspection techniques to verify product conformity and supports manufacturing operations by identifying and reporting quality concerns.

Hansen Corporation, an ElectroCraft company specializes in synchron motor and DC motor production as part of the ElectroCraft family of motion control products that provide dependable, application-engineered fractional-horsepower motors and motion control products.

Essential Functions

1. Perform in-process inspections of component parts and final product assemblies.

2. Inspect incoming vendor-supplied materials and purchased components to verify compliance with specifications and quality requirements.

3. Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards to determine product acceptance criteria.

4. Operate inspection and measuring equipment, including micrometers, calipers, optical comparators (shadowgraphs), digital readout equipment, and specialized measuring devices and gages.

5. Apply standard inspection methods, quality principles, and sampling procedures to evaluate product conformity.

6. Accurately document inspection results and communicate findings to the Supervisor through written reports and verbal communication.

7. Make informed decisions regarding the acceptance or rejection of materials, components, and finished products based on established quality standards.

8. Assist in identifying quality issues and support corrective actions when required.

9. Maintain inspection records and comply with applicable company quality procedures.

10. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor.

Qualifications

1. General knowledge of the function and construction of component parts and finished products.

2. Understanding machine operations, tooling, and tool-part drawings (preferred).

3. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation (preferred).

4. Knowledge of inspection methods, quality control principles, and sampling techniques.

5. Ability to use precision measuring instruments accurately (preferred).

6. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

7. Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Work Environment

At our manufacturing facility, while performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to conveyors and vibration. The employee may work with or near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment may be very loud depending on the area you are working in.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of an assembler, the employee is regularly required to stand or sit for extended periods of time. The employee is frequently required to use hands and fingers for fine manipulation. The employee is occasionally required to walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel; and talk or hear.

The employee must regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are as follows and may vary from week to week:

1st Shift

Monday through Thursday 6:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Friday 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
