Job summary

Ideal candidates have a minimum of five years' experience in manufacturing inspection, proficiency with Word/Excel, and strong attention to detail, color vision, and accuracy.

Qualifications

  • Minimum five years' experience as a Quality Inspector or Operator in manufacturing.
  • Proficient with Word and Excel; familiarity with Oracle.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read blueprints and drawings; interpret specifications.
  • US person; ITAR eligibility required.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect assemblies from blueprints and drawings to determine acceptance or rework.
  • Conduct visual inspections with high accuracy of physical properties.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes are completed and documented.
  • Report errors and systemic trends to quality organization.
  • Enter data into software tools; perform tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Job Summary:

The Quality Inspector will Identify problems with workmanship or process damage. Ensure the quality of produced assemblies by physical and visual inspection to verify characteristic against predetermined specifications, drawings or standards.

Essential Functions:
  • Works from blueprints, customer drawings, engineering change notices, military standards, and established operating procedures to determine acceptance, rejection or rework requirements of assembled units or supplier components
  • Conducts visual inspections with high level of accuracy to verify physical properties
  • Ensures the build and test manufacturing process has been completed
  • Proactively communicates errors and systemic trends to the quality organization
  • Enters data into software tools
  • Any other task assigned by your supervisor or management
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Experience: Minimum of five years' experience as a Quality Inspector or Operator in manufacturing environment required
  • Knowledge: Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Skills/Abilities: Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Competence to perform inspections using micrometers, dial-bore gages, comparators, calipers, thread gages, height gages, dial indicators, operating a CMM (pre-made programs)
  • General PC skills, including Word, Excel and Oracle; Ability to interpret drawings and part specifications; Accurate color vision and depth perception; Vision corrected to 20/20
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment, including interfacing with Production Control, Manufacturing Floor Machinists and Technicians, Internal Quality Engineers, Customers and other Internal Management personnel
  • Education/Certification: High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Eligibility Requirement: This position requires access to controlled data or information and therefore only US persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with AS9100 standards
  • Familiar with AS9102 First Article Requirements
Working Conditions:
  • Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment
  • Manufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps and any other required PPE
  • May be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust or fumes
  • Involves handling parts in compliance with Electrostatic Discharge Devices (ESD procedures)
  • Standing: 10% *percentage is approximate and may vary depending on work task
  • Sitting: 90% *percentage is approximate and may vary depending on work task
  • Lifting (in pounds): up to 40 pounds
  • Pushing (in pounds): up to 40 pounds
  • Mental/Visual: use of computer
  • Workspace: work bench
